Deanna McNeil jumped on the event from day one and has been a dynamo from the word go.  Deanna is also invovled in helping to deliver the most succssful SharePoint events in the DC and surrounding region.  Deanna's passion for helping kids in underprivileged communities access technology programs like this has spurred her involvement and we soon expect to see her as not only a Small Basic Instructor but as a recognized leader in the Washington community, and with the help of her new acquaintances at Microsoft, opening doors to more events and adoption of this format  in schools and camps. Deanna you inspire us all and we salute you and your dedication in pulling out all the stops in making this a success.
Deanna's bio:
Deanna McNeil is a personable, highly motivated and resourceful technologist with over 20 years experience in a multitude of industries. Her seasoned experience working in many areas of operations and desktop engineering provides a deep foundation for SharePoint, web 2.0 technologies and social media tools. As a long time blogger and active social networker, Deanna is poised to deliver sound guidance to anyone seeking to implement SharePoint or further engage on Twitter, Facebook and beyond. Her extensive project management, customer service and business analysis experience is an invaluable asset to any client.

Jennifer Davis,

Like most people on this team Jennifer came to us through a connection Deanna had in the SharePoint community. Jennifer was more than enthusiastic to offer her support. Jennifer is another one of those rare gems, a solid community member and is a great advocate for getting girls to uncover their own hidden talents and the fun technology offers.  I look forward to Jennifer's participation in this event as her own talents and infectious enthusiasm will transcencd itself upon the girls.

Jennifer's bio: Jennifer was 16 years old when her parents ask her “What do you want for your birthday – a used car or a computer?”  Her choice was easy to make – and with that, another technologist was born!  Her parents taught her that education is the key to success, and she remains committed to that message today.
Since then, Jennifer has been involved in multiple areas of technology across multiple vendors – and considers it a privilege to be a part of the worldwide IT community.  She seeks out opportunities to help others discover the same excitement in learning a new skill that she has had throughout her career.  Anyone at her church knows that she will come to their house and give free technical support in return for a meal and good company.  She has spent many weekends helping senior adults, who are often overwhelmed by technology that they never expected to see in their lifetime, and enjoys watching them learn to use a computer to stay in touch with grandkids or find long lost friends.

Jennifer currently works for Microsoft as a Senior Technical Account Manager, and helps organize community events related to Microsoft technologies, such as SharePoint Saturday.  This is her first involvement with the Teaching Girls revolution, and she’s grateful to those who are blazing this new trail for letting her come along!

There must be something in the water in DC that brings out such wonderful people. Danna met Deanna (and Donna, see below) at one of many events in the DC area and it was more gold in the pot. Danna has jumped in with both feet and flexed her muscles to make sure this event will be a huge success. Danna is a very busy supporter of Digigirlz and events that steer girls to continue their love of technology and reach for the stars. Danna is reaching out to them to be part of this event.

Hi my name is Elisabeth and I have fallen in love with Washington! The people are immensely talented and giving. I am yet to see anyone in this area that doesn't desire or know how to step up. I came to Washington for the Microsoft Imagine Cup US finals with Gen and we are coming back not only for WPC2010 but to leave with an event that will hopefully help 20 or more girls uncover their hidden talents and passion for technology.  Gen and I started Gen INC for that very purpose and Washington is our inaugural class that Gen will host.  I have been involved in changing the tide of women in tech for many years and by starting Gen INC we want girls to see the many others their age and the women "geeks" (now known as "Geek Chic") who are running and thrilling the industry with their many talents.
Give us your girls. We'll give you back ones with a whole new glow.
